MILLENNIALS
MILLENNIALS – SYNOPSIS
"Millennials" is a dramedy that tells life without filters, with sharp realism, emotional depth, and an ironic perspective on the complexities of the modern generation. Through toxic relationships, sexuality, mental health, loneliness, family ties, and the impact of social media, the series explores the existential uncertainties of young adults, caught between friendships, betrayals, complicated love affairs, and the constant search for identity, in a world full of contradictions and in constant evolution.
"Millennials" tells the story of a generation suspended between the need for freedom and the weight of societal expectations. At the center of the story is Irene, ironic and passionate, trapped in a toxic relationship with her ex-boyfriend Michael, from whom she suffers psychological and physical abuse. She moves through intense love affairs, complicated friendships, and a personal growth journey, while battling an autoimmune disease that she tries to ignore and hide from both herself and others. Giovanni, brilliant and sharp-witted, desires love but takes refuge in the wrong relationships, while he clashes with a family that does not accept his homosexuality. Behind his sarcasm hides a fragile soul, full of insecurities. Anna, famous on social media, creates a perfect online image, but behind the screen, she struggles with an eating disorder and the desperate need to feel loved. Michele, introverted and an online hater, uses his anger as a shield, but his encounter with Anna forces him to question his own identity. Four intertwined stories blend with those of recurring characters, addressing current themes and portraying the emotional chaos of a generation searching for itself, amidst shattered dreams, digital illusions, and human relationships oscillating between passion and self-destruction.
